A being in native states operates from a position of total
Responsibility means knowing willing cause with full awareness of
A consequence means something like whenever A happens B follows
soon after, so B is a consequence of A.
Normally consequences are considered to occur because A CAUSED B to
follow, but for a native state being HE is causing everything to occur.
So B can't occur unless the being creates B directly.
Beings like to pretend that A is the cause of B, so they arrange it
so they create A, and B happens automagically, but none the less
originally the being knew that he was responsible for both A and B, AND
the intent to make it look like A was responsible for B.
The being is trying to cast his cause onto his creations, it works
in apparency, but it remains an illusion.
Cause is always between the Native State Static and the kinetic,
never between two kinetics.
One might ask if a being knows what he is going to create before he
creates it, and the answer is no. A native state being creates in the
mere conception of things, which means the very idea of something IS the
So he gets the idea 'let there be something', and something will
appear but he has no clue what it is going to be, before it appears.
Can we still say he is fully responsible for what appears? Well
certainly no one else is, and he was the one who invoked the creation
with his intent, so yes he still has responsibility for something
appearing, even if not direct responsibility for exactly what appeared.
However if he doesn't like what appeared, he can veto it, vanish
it, and cast something else unexpected into existence. If he does like
what shows up, he can keep it and run with it, building on it with
further creations glued together by assignments of significances.
He makes A and B, and he assigns significances to them AFTER they
appear. He says, well let's consider that A is an ashtray, and B is a
burning cigarette, and the purpose of A is to hold the ashes from B so
they don't fall to the floor.
Notice he didn't set out to create an ashtray, he set out to create
a 'something'. AFTER he gets various somethings, he can then adorn them
with significances so he can relate them to each other with
Things are originally created significance free by 'casting' or
postulation, via will's intent that something be created.
After they are created, things are assigned significances, what
they are, and how they relate to each other, via consideration which
means to 'side together'.
Postulates create, and considerations glue what is created together
via relationships, uses, and consequences.
"The consequence of putting the cigarette into the ashtray is the
ashes won't drop on the floor." Of course he has to create a floor too
and then consider that it ought to be kept clean etc.
Adore says "Source sources only when Will casts."
So Will in this case is the being, the Agent One, that's me and
thee, who has the controlling intent to create and at whose command a
creation is then made by Source.
Source is the underlying causal substrate that binds and connects
us all together and allows us to create and communicate with each other
via those creations in the first place.
Source and Will together form God or the AllThatIs.
Thus will is God in carnation.
Now a being can do something very interesting, a being can jump
directly into a game made by others that is already ongoing, very old
and very involved.
A game is basically a set of consequences, you do this, and that
For example Newton spent his whole life studying the fact that when
you let go of an apple in your hand, it falls to the ground.
Letting go of the apple is A, and falling to the ground is B.
So B is a consequence of A, and that particular consequence is
pretty rife throughout the physical universe.
So it goes with games in general, they are collections of
postulates and considerations that relate earlier states to later states
that then make it incumbent upon the being to create the earlier states
if he wants the later state.
"In order to have a tree I first have to plant a seed."
When a being enters such a game, he agrees to a package of
postulates and considerations which create all these consequences,
without really taking the time to look at everything he is agreeing to.
It's sort of like a software license agreement, they are long winded,
hard to read, boring as hell, and you go 'Yeah yeah' and hit the I AGREE
Woe be unto you.
It doesn't even matter if you DON'T agree to all the conditions in
a universe, once you hit the I AGREE button you agree with them anyhow
and thus become subservient to them.
You become subservient to them to the degree that you intend to be
in that game package.
One of the reasons a being skims over the agreement listing, is
that finding out how things are related to each other and what the
consequences of things are is part of the game. He wants to play
discovery, to figure out how things work the hard way, by trial and
error, and then eventually get around to using this knowledge for his
Part of playing the game is learning how to play it!
So once a being has entered a game, he is no longer fully aware of
the consequences of things, but is he any less responsible?
No, because he agreed to the game knowing full well he didn't want
to know everything there was to know so he could play the game of
surprise and unexpected consequences. Since he knowingly and willingly
joined the game, and knowingly and willingly bypassed reading the small
print, he still has full responsibility for being in the game, and no
one to blame or hold accountable but himself.
But one of the fun things about games is an agreement that once you
enter them you will lose site of having chosen to enter them, at which
point your sense of personal responsibility for involvement in the game
goes out the tubes.
Now the being feels "I had nothing to do with this" and so he feels
put upon for being in a game he didn't chose, that he has to play or
else die a terrible death forever.
This is total responsibility for total no responsibility.
Total responsibility reigns at all times, but it comes dressed to
dinner as total no responsibility.
Thus auditing responsibility and no responsibility, goes a long
ways towards recovering for the being his intent to come in.
Total no responsibility is also the beauty of glory and sacrifice.
He says "Well I didn't put evil there, but if, Oh Noble Me, I go out and
fight it, I might get laid tonight (if I live to return.)"
Since the being is now riding a fundamental wave of forward motion
that says he didn't make the place and had nothing to do with it, when
something bad happens to him, he will resist and protest the evil as if
he was an innocent victim.
Now by innocent victim we do not mean someone who is not guilty of
a crime, merely someone who didn't have any responsibility for being
where he is. One isn't guilty per se for choosing to come into a game,
nor for hiding the fact that one did so.
Evil rains down on everyone whether they are guilty or not in this
universe, although once a being does something bad in response, now that
he IS guilty, he will tend to get into more evil than not.
There is no absolute law of justice working here, it's just the way
things work, if someone feels he ought to be shot for something he did,
he will probably manage to arrange it somehow in the future one way or
Anyhow the descent from total responsibility to total
irresponsibility is the descent from Creator to Creature, from Author to
As a creature he still has a microscopic amount of responsibility
for things, he can pick up his hand and move a glass of milk to his
mouth, but he feels he has zero responsibility for the general context
and milieu in which he finds himself, the universe at large.
He didn't make the glass, he didn't make the milk, he didn't make
the cow, and he didn't make everything else around him, except a very
few small number of things, and even those he made by changing something
else that already existed.
And he certainly didn't accept any invitation to be in this game,
and he certainly didn't invite anyone else to be in this game either,
and if he had his druthers there are a whole mess of people he would
disinvite forthwith, starting with the evil, and continuing with those
that cause him trouble like the draft board who benefit financially from
his fighting evil at his expense.
Thus someone who had total responsibility for his condition, now
thinks he has very little, and he will do some very strange things to
deal with frustrations born of his apparent powerlessness and lack of
choice for being where he is.
A being who remembers having chosen to enter a game will have a
different and better attitude towards bad things that happen to him, and
which he does to others (because they came in willingly too), than
someone who has lost sight of his responsibility entirely.
For the no responsibility case, things can get pretty dire.
The primary mechanism of survival becomes to do to others what
others did to you. That can work for good or for bad. In the long run,
the bad will exceed the good, and pretty soon you find the being
hammering on everyone around him, just as he was hammered on by others
and the universe at large.
When someone or something mean starts to hammer on him, he will
ransack his mind for someone who was bigger and meaner who used to
hammer on him, and become that thing in order to hammer back. If he
wins, so good, if he loses, then woe unto him.
When a being uses a moment of pain to survive, if he fails, he ends
up back in his own valence where he feels the pain!
Say Dufus hits Goober over the head with a baseball bat.
Later Goober is being annoyed by a school teacher and he pulls up
the engram of Dufus hitting him over the head. There are two valences
in this engram, one of Dufus being very happy to hit Goober over the
head, and one of Goober who has a splitting head ache.
So Goober pulls up this engram and BECOMES DUFUS, thus feeling and
doing what Dufus did by hitting the teacher over the head with a base
ball bat and feeling very happy about it. But then later Goober regrets
this (teacher's sad eyes get him every time) and Goober doesn't want to
be Dufus any more, and so Goober goes back into his own valence in the
engram and gets a splitting headache.
The whole physical universe works this way.
But now Goober is really pissed, not only at Dufus, and the
teacher, but also at himself. So the next time someone annoys him, he
will 'do a Dufus' on them for serious this time with a promise to
himself that he will never regret it no matter what!
A while later he regrets it and again he's back in valence beating
HIMSELF over the head with the engram that Dufus caused, 'How could you
be so stupid!"
As this continues, it gets worse and worse, and eventually becomes
a stuck solid 'wanna kill - can't kill' condition that will destroy
Goober from the inside out.
What it is, is a point of total no responsibility for Dufus, for
teacher, for those that annoy him, and for himself for continuing to do
the wrong thing and regretting it only to do it again and again, and for
the whole universe that surrounds him in which this drama is playing
If there were no universe, there would be no Dufus, right?
Hitting people over the head becomes justified AND restrained, and
results in a permanent overwhelm condition in Goober who remains kind of
stuck forever half way between being Dufus and being himself in the
original engram, kind of like a ant in amber.
"I want to be Dufus, I can't be Dufus, I want to be Dufus, I can't
be Dufus," about 100 times a second just going on in the background
there amongst everything else for the rest of his life.
In session when the pc contacts one of these moments, it will turn
on like a massive solid wall of pain that will run out as slow as cold
If the pc tries to fight it, he will lose, usually by going out of
valence and dramatizing Dufus again, usually on the auditor.
But if he simply sits there with it, and realizes it is pain and
mental mass surrounding multiple points of total no responsibility, it
will start to run out and eventually erase.
Once the engram is gone, AND THE MENTAL MASS AND PAIN IT IS CHARGED
UP WITH ARE RELEASED, it will no longer be there any more to entice
Goober to hit people over the head with a base ball bat every time they
annoy him, and Goober will hopefully have recovered some of his
responsibility for being here.
Not to mention his self respect and ability to forgive and be
Run this with,
"Get the idea of NO responsibility."
"Get the idea of SOME responsibility."
E/P, recovery of awareness of responsibility for condition, and
responsibility for no responsibility.
